JP Elliott is a trusted business partner to senior management teams with a proven track record of translating business needs into people strategies that drive bottom-line results. Over his career as a Talent and HR executive, JP has worked across various industries and organizations, many undergoing significant business and culture transformations. These experiences have shaped him into an agile, pragmatic, and data-driven leader who can deliver results.
JP has deep expertise and experience in talent management, leadership development, organization design, culture transformation, and talent acquisition from his time leading Talent at DICK’s Sporting Goods, The Brink’s Company, and McAfee.
JP also has significant experience as an HR executive as he was the SVP of HR for the US business unit of The Brink’s Company which included 7K employees and over $800M in revenue. In this role, JP was responsible for recruiting a new management team, driving a cultural transformation, and turning around an underperforming business which resulted in a 300% improvement in operating profit over 18 months.
Most recently, JP served as the Chief People Officer of WilliamsMarston LLC, a private equity backed professional services firm. In this role, JP oversaw the successful integration of two acquisitions, led a comprehensive redesign of the Practice Leaders and Partners incentive compensation plan, and enhanced the firm’s performance management process to drive a high-performance culture.
Before moving into internal leadership roles, JP was a senior consultant with Sibson Consulting’s Organizational & Talent Practice. In addition, he was a senior consultant with IBM’s Global Business Services where he led organizational change, business transformation, and human capital initiatives for clients ranging from mid-market to Fortune 1000 companies in the telecommunications, media, biotech, oil and gas, insurance, and restaurant industries.
In October 2022, JP launched the Future of HR podcast which has grown into one of the top podcasts for HR leaders and is consistently ranked in the top 100 management podcasts in the US and the top five percent of all podcasts.
JP received his PhD in Organizational Psychology from Alliant International University where he has served as an Adjunct Instructor and developed an advanced seminar on Talent Management. In addition, JP co-authored a chapter in The Talent Management Handbook 2nd edition and was an early contributor to Talent-Quarterly.
